Our Statement of Faith

The doctrinal statement of Filadelfia Bible College provides a summary of biblical doctrine that is consonant with Evangelical-Pentecostal Christianity.

We Believe:

  • In the sixty-six canonical books of the Holy Bible as inspired by God, and so it is the only infallible and authoritative word of God, and the rule of faith and practice.
  • In one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
  • In the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ our Lord, His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father as the perpetual mediator and intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ, and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit and the word of God is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
  • In believers' water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
  • That the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not an exclusive apostolic experience, rather it is available to all believers, who ask for it with a clean heart; that speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is its initial evidence.
  • In sanctification subsequent to new birth, by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit; that holiness is God's standard of living for His people.
  • That it is the privilege of the believers to be healed through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, in answer to prayer by faith.
  • In the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, comprising the Church, the body of Christ, visibly manifested in fellowship, worship and in service.
  • In the Lord's memorial, called the Lord's Supper to be administered in the Church according to His Word.
  • In the gifts of the Holy Spirit as exercised and manifested in the Early Church.
  • That Evangelism is the supreme task of the Church.
  • In the personal, visible, pre-millennial, imminent and glorious second coming of Christ to consummate His Kingdom.
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting condemnation.
